Remember those nostalgic titles where you moved side-to-side dodging enemies and collect items? Those amazing shoot ’em ups (shmups)? Solbot Energy Rush, released by Freakout Games, ignites the passion you had for those titles and releases a new set of challenges upon you. The likes you would never experience in this day and age.
Developed for Android and iOS, Solbot Energy Rush requires you to use your lighting quick finger reactions as you embark a quest to become the top player amongst your peers and the world.
Solbot Energy Rush features ETNL!
Freakout Game, the masterminds behind Solbot Energy Rush have embraced the gaming world by adding communities to the game. Gamers can select their community and represent them throughout the game. Gaming communities like ETNL are part of the Android version of the game, where players can select the ETNL logo to represent us (or any other community you wish).
Once your community has been selected and the logo you would like associated with your account, you are launched into the game as a robot flying throughout space. Your task as this robot is to collect orbs. Each orb collected contributes to the end of the level score and the final score.
The concept of the game is simple but Freakout Games do not stray away from their overall objective, Solbot Energy Rush does what it says on the box. It launches you into the game, requiring you to use your senses to dodge oncoming targets and collect the orbs. It does all this in short-burst levels.
Are the short levels good?
I struggled to understand if I enjoyed the short levels or if I felt like the levels needed to be longer. As I was unable to decide if I saw this as a problem or something I enjoyed, my final verdict was that if there isn’t anything wrong, there is no need to fix it. Keeping the levels short, only serves to create more tension. But also, as this is a mobile game, you may have to stop playing at a moments notice – your train has arrived, or you need to get off the bus at this stop.
Increasing your final score was made easier by the magnet within the game; collect the magnet and attract the orbs around you. Increasing your score and allowing you the chance to break into a top leaderboard position.
Gamers who struggle with dodging oncoming enemies, never fear, you too can increase your score. Solbot Energy Rush allows gamers to earn credits so they may continue their game. Complete the required step and gain a credit.
The credit system is very encouraging for gamers and a good incentive to draw gamers back to the game. The only gripe I had against this incentive is that the game would ping you notifications on your mobile to encourage you to come back to the game every few hours throughout the day which got a little annoying. An easy to access option to be able to turn this off would be great!
Except for this, Freakout Games has created a very solid free to play game on Android and iOS. Gamers should not be discouraged by the notification system, instead, they should enjoy the treasures within the game. It truly is a solid and fun experience.
- Is a good level of challenging
- Leaders make the game competitive
- Notifications can get annoying
