The dark chakra has taken over Shino-Sensei’s body, he is ready to unleash the pain on his students. These unexpecting students are Boruto, transfer student Mitsuki, and Shikadai.
The four characters are alone in a forest, Shino-Sensei unleashes his bug chakra, attacking Boruto. With our hero covered in bugs, knowing they are in a fight Mitsuki uses his wind chakra to brush the bugs off Boruto as Boruto, Mitsuki, and Shikadai escape from Shino.
Our three heroes are aware that Shino is not himself, Mitsuki suggests that they must kill Shino, whilst Boruto highlights that Shino is covered by a dark chakra and that they must knock out Shino-Sensei — as they had done previously when battling a person who was possessed by the dark chakra.
Running through the forest, Shikadai is able to muster a plan.
Executing The Plan
Shikadai mentions to Boruto and Mitsuki that Shino-Sensei’s chakra is weakening, he has been using his chakra at full force. He says that he noticed the bugs Shino produce disbanded whenever they reach water.
The three students use their newfound knowledge as part of their plan. They lead Shino into a lake, they were able to achieve this by Boruto attacking Shino with his shadow chakra.
Shino is wise to the student’s plans, he makes quick work of Boruto and Shikadai, pinning them both to the tree. Shino turns his attention to Mitsuki, as it looks like the end of the line for the three students.
Mitsuki is able to contain Shino by using his expandable arm technique; Shino is now wrapped within Mitsuki arms and drawn into the lake. Shino releases his bug upon Mitsuki who uses his second chakra, a lighting chakra! Losing air under the lake, Shino dark chakra escapes his body.
Shino is back on dry land, Mitsuki is drowning, and he has used his chakra and can no longer pull himself to dry land.
Boruto rushes into the lake, his chakra is non-existent but Boruto is able to reach Mitsuki. Boruto collects Mitsuki and starts to pull Mitsuki to dry land, though something is wrong. Boruto is running out of air; the two students are in trouble!
Awaking from his knocked out state, Shino is tired, he acknowledges that Boruto and Mitsuki are in trouble. Shino dives into the lake, he reaches Boruto and using the strength within Shino is able to save Mitsuki and Boruto with the little chakra he had left by digging in deep.
Back at the academy, Shino has decided to reverse his decision to retire from the academy after Boruto and Shikadai had spoken to him in private.
Shino reports the dark chakra to Naruto; the academy leaders have decided that the dark chakra is more of a problem than originally anticipated. Naruto asks Shino to help him as they investigate further.
The emotions of each character were felt deeply when watching Episode 6. Boruto had turned from a series slowly building towards the future to a series where the previous 5 episodes’ set up were executed to perfection.
