We are in Naruto’s home. It is quieter than usual. Himawari, the daughter of Naruto, is sick and the Uzumaki family have gathered to help her recover.
We are greeted with a flashback of when Himawari was previously sick, and Naruto is preparing for his Hokage inauguration.
Himawari is Sick
We are quick to learn this flashback contains a number of disasters due to the relationship between Himawari and Boruto. Brother and sisters in any household have a sibling rivalry or disagreement, and in the Uzumaki household, this is no different.
Due to their sibling arguing we understand why Naruto mentions the Byakugan in earlier episodes – as Himawari unleashed the Byakugan on Boruto. When this happened Naruto was quick onto the scene but was knocked out by Himawari whilst saving Boruto.
Naruto’s favourite Ramen shop
We return to the present day as our flashback ends. A friend of Naruto is dressing up as Naruto, so he could accept Naruto’s induction as a Hokage.
Naruto convinces Boruto to join him for a trip to his favourite ramen shop. At his favourite ramen shop, Naruto explains to Boruto how he and his mother would come to this ramen shop when they were younger. Boruto does not believe this and ignores his father. Boruto discovers his mother is the ramen champion of the ramen shop as the episode comes to a close with father and son enjoying their trips to the ramen shop.
Once again Boruto showcases a filler, but unlike previous fillers, this particular one focuses on Naruto’s family and his daughter’s past experiences.
Does this filler have relevance to future arcs? I am unsure. What I can say is that I enjoyed it when compared to other filler episodes of Boruto.
